BLURB:
When Evie Crowe of the Uweka tribe sneaks off to the city of Broxbridge to attend the Christening Ceremony- an event to ascend the next tribe alpha, little did she know that her destiny was just about to unravel, one that would shake the entire country of Lethuoca and bring the immortals forth, but finally give her some answers she sought.
After her unwilling participation in the christening, she finally ascends but with her ascension came an inevitable choice, Wolf or Goddess? Love or Duty? Can she survive her trial and the impending war with the immortals long enough to make the ultimate choice, or will she crumble beneath it all?
I've been at this story for some time now, four months give or take. And within these fours months, I've rewritten the entire thing about three times. It is currently on its 3rd rewritten version and the feedback has been amazing.
Torrents of Fate, former Fated, is only on Inkitt.
From rewriting, reploting and tweaking to get my desired content as I envisioned, I've been able to see my story from the POV of all my major characters, and this has made it much simpler to write. The initial idea was to have a protagonist who was unaware of the existences of the supernatural, but then gets thrown into their world when she gets a job. But about 20 chapters in, I realized I didn't like the angle it was going, and that particular plot was quite overdone.
So I opted for something different, and honestly the character just told me what she preferred and that's how version two began. I had a vision of what I wanted now, it wasn't going to be the unaware heroine but one who was at the heart of the supernatural convergence in Lethuoca, but had no access to it. 45 chapters into this version and the comments showed the readers were a bit confused. I knew the story, and where it was headed, but I was leaving too many unanswered questions and unresolved connections without giving them a little exposition to balance it out, so I had to go back in to restructure.
That's how version 3 came to be. My goal with this version is to make things clearer, easier to grasp but still keep the important secrets hidden. While I reveal a few new compounding issues as the chapters progress, I solve and answer previously raised ones, so there's a balance of mystery and information.
From the previous 2 versions, I was able to strip the story bare and really get a look inside everything. It was a 'eureka' moment in this third rewrite, and I've got to say I'm loving it so far.
Torrents of Fate is current at 15 chapters and I update twice every week. If you read fantasy and romance, I would love to know what you think of it.
